Our women's health clinic in Yaoundé is open 24 hours a day, so a mother in labor at 3 AM has somewhere to go.
Why it is there
Safe births, day and night
Cameroon has one of the highest rates of mothers dying in childbirth in the world. Most of those deaths can be stopped with care that is close by and open when labor starts.
So we built a clinic for women and newborns and kept the doors open around the clock. Mothers come for check-ups before the birth, for the birth itself, and for the weeks after.
